The game unfolds across 33 distinct stops, with arrivals at designated stations marking the transition to the next level of play, allowing for new players to join your table. It is noteworthy that each participant comes with their own level of expertise, which can enhance the dynamics of the game.

Preferans is a sophisticated 10-card plain-trick game that incorporates a bidding mechanism. This process is crucial in determining which player declares the trump suit, as well as the contract itself. The primary goal for the declarer is to secure the number of tricks they have committed to, while defenders strive to thwart this effort. Players are required to adhere to the suit if possible; if not, they must attempt to play a trump if feasible.

The variant known as Bandit represents an ordered form of Preferans. In this format, players must each navigate through a set of specific card requirements: playing six cards from each suit—spades, clubs, diamonds, and hearts—along with cards numbered seven through ten, as well as two all-passes and miser. Each sixer game initiates with the proclamation of the trump suit prior to the opening of buy-in announcements. In contrast, games featuring numbers 7 through 10 introduce their announcements before the buy-in, with the trump suit being declared subsequently.
